A Pediatrician is a medical professional who deals with the science of Pediatrics.Pediatrics is a field which deals with everything but children- Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology!

Pathological conditions which are mild for an adult maybe severe for a neonate (or a child). This is mainly because of difference in the physiological mechanism, pathological states, as well as Immune system functioning.For example, If an adult presents with a fever (Elevated Body Temperature over 37 Degree C or 98 Degree F), he/she is prescribed a moderate dose of a safe Anti-Pyretic Drug (Such as Paracetamol. Aspirin is generally avoided, keeping dengue fever in mind), until the condition persists.

However, if the same case is found in a child, there is something to worry about, as the child’s body is not yet prepared for handling any such pathology.Good Care & Proper Hygiene is a must for every child, and it is the duty of the parents (or the Guardians) to make sure their children are kept in a safe and a hygienic enviornment.We all go out for our work daily, and almost every-day we make use of public transports like trains, buses or taxis for travelling. But we don’t fall sick everyday! This is because our immune system is prepared to fight against common antigens.
