Clinical Pharmacology - An Essence

Clinical pharmacologists are the wonder kids of the medical world. On their shoulders is the responsibility of integrating the know how of chemistry with the working knowledge of the human body and its physiological reactions to chemical compounds. This enables them to create and deliver the most optimal medications for various illnesses.

Clinical pharmacologists can be either doctors who have opted the specialization of pharmacology or can be researchers in the field itself, without a doctor background. Both types are well versed in human physiology and the workings and interactions of the body?s systems and organs. This allows them to synthesize the medicine according to the function and act in a manner that elicits the desired response from the tissue. These principal cores, coupled with the pillars of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and dosage forms enable the clinical pharmacologists to bridge the gap between clinic and lab to bring top notch pharmaceuticals to cure the patient.
