ENT Specialists - Also manage oncologic conditions of the head and neck

ENT Specialists are doctors which have special & advanced training in management and treatment of cases related to Ear, Nose & Throat.ENT Doctors can now also treat various Benign tumors of the head and neck. Not only this, they can now even handle Facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries.
However, this is not what is included in the normal Masters Course of ENT after graduation (i.e. MBBS + Masters (ENT) + Surgery)Facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries can only be performed by an ENT, after pursuing further specialization in the same. This is usually a One Year Course after Masters, for ones who wish to specialize in the aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the head, face, and neck.

Following this, an ENT can perform interventions such as:
Genioplasty ( Chin Augmentation)
Rhytidectomy (Face Lifting)
Browlift
Otoplasty ( Correcting deformities of Pinna i.e. External Ear)
With even further specializations, ENT specialists can Facial Traumas.
These are conditions which one encounters following any injury, which may be due to various reasons. This includes:
Mandible Fracture
Hair Line Fracture
Nasal Bone Fracture
Orbital Fracture
Of these, Mandible Fracture is one of the most complicated. This is because, a Normal Human Anatomical Skeleton has 2 Mandibles joined with each other, and have inter-connected motions. This makes fracture management very difficult and complicated. These fractures are most often caused due to accidental injuries, which have direct impact on the bone. By- Dt. Trishala Chopra
