Many diseases have wide reach and only few can affect a wide range of people with minimal predisposition like diabetes does. A disease which we are all familiar about, diabetes mellitus, also called sugar diabetes, is one of the most prevalent diseases in the modern world today.
Due to such prevalence in the world, it is no surprise that it is one of the most researched diseases in the world. In India alone diabetes can be detected in most of the middle to older age groups and shows need for specialized treatment. This takes form as the study of the disease, also called diabetology which involves numerous researchers, doctors, and other scientists.
Diabetologists essentially specialize in the cause, treatment and care of patients that suffer from diabetes, and is not a purely medical specialty but involves work from other spheres such are research, genetics, cultural practices etc. to learn about the causative agents and enhancing treatment for the patients affected.
