Pediatric is the branch of medicine that deals with the treatment of children
and the age of the children usually ranges right from birth until the
end of the teenage. A medical practitioner who specializes and
practices in the field of pediatrics is called a pediatrician. The
word pediatrics in Greek refers to “the healer of children”.
Who
is a pediatric surgeon?
Pediatric
surgeons are specially trained surgeons in the field of pediatric
surgery. They are usually different from that of the normal surgeons
as these surgeons are especially devoted to the field of childcare. If
the child has any kind of illness that is to be treated and operated
by a surgery, it is best advisable to take the child to a pediatric
surgeon than a general surgeon, as the pediatric surgeons will have a
better understanding about the child’s medical condition.
A
child’s mental and physical ability is different and complicated
that doctors will need to acquire a complete knowledge on child
anatomy, which a normal surgeon will not have. Therefore, there a
particular group of doctors who specialize in treating children,
known as pediatric surgeons.A
pediatric surgeon is not just a doctor who treats children who are
sick. However, he or she also suggests preventive measures for
children who are healthy to stay healthier and to be fit without
being infected.A
pediatric surgeon usually tries to control the infant death rate by
analyzing the problems of the infants and treating the infants in
accordance. He usually has a more clear understanding of a child’s
health condition than the normal surgeons do as the pediatric
surgeons are specially trained to treat the infants and the children
unlike the normal surgeons.
The
pediatric surgeon should have a thorough knowledge about the
surgeries and the surgical tools that are to be used. If the surgeon
is carrying out an operation for a newborn baby, the surgeon should
know which tool is to be used and which medication is to be given as
the newborn baby is as tender as a flower. By- Pujha Ramesh
