ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS IN INDIA


Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being of a living organism. When this physical, mental and social information of a patient are collected, tracked and share past and current records complies together and is said health records. When these health records are stored or maintained electronically, it is known as Electronic Health Records.

Gone those days when people used to carry those heavy files of documents, nowadays, people have become more advanced and follow the policy of keeping hard copies. As more healthcare facilities from hospitals to private clinics are migrated from paper charts to digital records, the benefits will increase to both doctors and patients. According to the reports and surveys, EHRs contain less error than paper records. EHRs benefits are spreading worldwide as it includes less paperwork and can help in spending a portion of their time filling out forms. 

It has enhanced the quality of patients care. Communication has become easier between patients and doctors.More efficient at storage and retrievals. EHRs reduce medical errors by improving the accuracy of medical records. Once the implementation will complete, it will cost less to the medical system.The government of many countries is working to ensure that all citizens of their country have electronic health records and every record has same information. By - Medha chaudhary
