General Surgery-How to get there?


Sure, Life of a general surgeon is full of hardships and devoid of tranquility but there are some passionate souls out there who have utter and complete dedication towards this field and who what to make this as their dream career. Basically, there are four main steps that one has to follow to become a general surgeon: MBBS, internship, Entrance and MS (Medicine of Surgery). 

In India, a general surgery aspirant has to undergo four and a half years of MBBS training, followed by one year long internship with usually open ups the medical students towards more practical side of medicine. India is known for its tough entrance examinations and the entrance for MS is no different. People have to make the choice of the specialty of their career based on the rank they managed to get. 

Those who successfully made their way into general surgery get trained in certified hospitals as interns for three years to complete their MS degree. During these three years, students burn midnight oil to pass their viva and written exams along with the submission of thesis. It’s only after you receive a license that you become a true surgeon. There is no lack of opportunities for general surgeons. Big hospitals in Ghaziabad have well trained professionals in general surgery
