A pharmacologist is the one who actually does the study of these drugs. All drugs, in a broad spectrum, follow some essential heads such as:
Formulation Available Route of administration such as Enteral, Parenteral or Inhalation.
Dosage instructions. Example: Adrenaline given as 1: 1000, 1: 10,000 or 1:100000 Injections for Myocardial Infarction.
Drug’s Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacokinetics includes the study done by a pharmacologist, about what happens to the drug, when it enters the body. It involves study of:
a) Absorption of Drugs (such as by muscles tendons etc)
b) Metabolism of Drugs (Eg: Drugs metabolized by Liver by CYP450 enzymes)
c) Excretion of drug (Unchanged or changed into urine or faeces)
Bioavailability:
Assessing the Bioavailability of a drug is the most important task of a pharmacologist. It refers to the safety of the drug. Higher the value, safer is the drug. Ghaziabad has the best pharmacologists though! One can rely on them surely and Medicosa is always here. However, with advancement in pharmacology, there are lot many cons which follow the use of drugs. Though pharmacologists try their best to overcome this cons.
Where laxatives were made just as a remedy for constipation, they are now being used for things which were not even imaginable when they were actually formulated.Though extremely useful in almost all conditions, the adverse effects of NSAID’s, especially Salicylates, become a hindrance in their use.CNS sedatives and hypnotics, which were traditionally made to calm the patient, are now drugs of abuse, just to obtain their depressive effects.New inventions, new challenges everyday is just the beginning lot more to achieve…Best is yet to come!
