You

for the new born screening. It helps in determining the inborn errors
in the baby if any. Of lately, new born screening has been gaining

through new born screening method.
The
most widely detected disorder is PKU (phenylketonuria) which is seen
quite often in new born kids which is usually in the genes. A drop of
blood is taken for the screening and the most common method of new
born screening is tandem mass spectrometry or mass spectroscopy is
used. This method can detect approximately 20 metabolic disorders
with just a single drop of blood. New born specialist will also
recommend parents to do the test however its parents’ choice
whether they want to get it done for their infants or no. but if
doctors have kind of doubt about any such disorders in the infant
then they can make the screening mandatory as well. It completely
depends on the mutual decision between the specialist and parents.
