The Light of the General Physician

Medical doctors and health care professionals are almost always identified by a common man as physician. The versatile nature of their knowledge also allows them to function as family practitioners, since they can tend to patients of any age and deal with a wide range of illnesses that can present.General physicians can be seen as the torch bearers of modern medicine, as their knowledge is deeply rooted in the classical practices of the medical art. It is in times like these, that practitioners like general physicians can aid the expansion and development of the healthcare services of the nation . By- Amaan

Cancer does not have face unless it is yours or someone you know

What is cancer? Types of cancer? Complications of cancer? Symptoms of cancer? These are those things which we almost know or we might have read something about it. But let’s discuss something which you might not be aware of! Well this is an astonishing fact! Our body’s immune system kills some cells every 3 days which can cause cancer in future! Strange but true! Our body works as a proper machine! Give it proper fuel so that he always works properly!

Now lets talk about something which is happening all around the globe! In western countries, cervical cancer is topping charts there! Cervical cancer is mainly cause by HPV which is human papiloma virus which targets genitals of both males and females but more often seen in females. This is mostly sexually transmitted and now because of this being very common, scientist managed to remove few preventive vaccines which will help in fighting of this virus!

However our body’s immune system fights against but if it persists it will hamper the body cells to a great extent! So in most of the cases it is better to have preventive vaccines! There are few screening tests also which are developed which is helping in detecting this virus at earlier stages! Smear from the genitals is taken and it is tested which helps in detecting this type of cancer! Technology is blooming!!

ONCOLOGY – SHOULD WE BE READY NOW ?

Like most things, we put off gaining in depth knowledge into something as common as cancer. Also like most things, we think “this will never happen to me”. And as much as we hope and pray, bad things do happen. Isn’t it better to be prepared rather than face the sudden blow, unprepared and unarmed with something as basic and as easily available as information ?So yes, here’s the brutal reality : the world is developing at a dizzying pace and it is somewhat developing at the cost of human lives.
The pollutants from industries, the radiation from the new towers and the tightly fit schedules of people with no time to take care of their health are all leading towards development of more and more illnesses, like cancer.Cancer, as we know , has been on the rise in people since the past few decades. It is no coincidence that this rise is accompanied with rapid industrialization, urbanization, and development.
Cancer, in layman terms, is the abnormal growth of cells, which is caused due to all the factors mentioned above, alongwith other factors like genetics. Oncology is the branch of medicine that deals with different types of cancer. It is difficult to find a qualified oncologist who doesn’t charge an exorbitant fees in our country these days. There is a need to make healthcare affordable to all sections of society and it can be done either by improving the standards of government hospitals or by making it mandatory for doctors in private hospitals to devote a fixed amount of their time and services to the underprivileged, free of cost.
