Positives of Health Care Awareness

Health professionals such as doctors and nurses and other health workers are immaculate machines in their work. Yet one of the fundamental duties they carry out, apart from the usual treating patients and alleviating pain; is the promotion of good health practices. Health awareness and good health etiquette is definitely the need of the hour and the responsibility of the practitioners of health care.

The positives of such awareness are beyond comprehension. Apart from the evident good hygiene that follows awareness of basic cleanliness and disposal methods, there results a strong decrease in communicable disease. This brings up and elevates the level of health in society. Specific health awareness in situations of pregnancy practices and post natal care can not only increase the health and longevity of the child, but of the mother as well. These are just examples of how good advice in health practices can elevate the health levels of the general public on a whole.

Good health and positive mind are the only assets which you must give your child

My child doesn’t eat anything! He is so weak doctor! Please tell me what should I do? Is there are medicine which can make him eat? Yes, such type of questions does arise, which is sometimes okay because of the current lifestyle people are getting into. Chips and biscuits are their new lunch and cola’s and other soft drinks are their new health drink!

Importance of traditional meal is lost somewhere and regularity of including milk in a child’s diet is being ignored and this is the main reason behind big diseases occurring in small children. Here comes the role of a child specialist. It is very important to educate people about good health. Importance of milk in a child’s diet must be explained so that kids don’t loose on the important nutrients which they fetch out of milk.

Along with the treatment, child specialist must have a deep knowledge and must be an excellent educator. This will not only help people understand the importance of food but it will also help in a better growth of their child. For being an educator it is very important to have a sound knowledge about the subject they are talking about. Unlike physicians, child specialist focus only on things or problems which a child faces and what needs to be done to get rid of those problems which is only restricted to children! By: Dt. DON'T FRET FOR A DIABETOLOGIST ANYMORE?

Diabetes is rapidly spreading in India, and has increased by 28% in the past four years. Currently, around 70 million Indian are suffering from diabetes. India is also referred to as the diabetic capital of the world, that is, it homes the highest number of diabetics in the world. According to a recent study, the people suffering from this disease have increased by 40% in urban cities and 49% in rural areas.

All these facts and statistics have thrown enough light on the prevalence of diabetes in our country. While diabetes is definitely the result of a sedentary and unhealthy lifestyle, it can be due to genetic and metabolic abnormalities and demographic transitions as well. Certain types of diabetes are due to a high intake of sugar which increases its level in the body.

While the most common and prevalent treatment involves insulin, many a times even insulin doesn't help in curing the illness. According to an article published by Business Standard, metabolic surgery can control diabetes in over 80% of patients in India.

With such a whopping number of people suffering from diabetes, the demand for a diabetologist is very high. Dr. Ajay Rastogi is an experienced and renowned diabetologist, practicing in Noida and Indirapuram. He has served big hospitals like Apollo Hospital, Fortis Hospital and GTB Hospital and runs a private clinic as well. By - Jessica

OB-GYNS : HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY ?

To be honest, most of us have heard about OB/GYNs through the TV. We know they exist but we have seldom been to them, because it seems that only people with “problems” visit OB / GYNs . firstly, it is important to define who OB / GYNs are. OB GYN is the abbreviation for obstetricians and gynaecologists. Obstretricians mainly take care of pregnant women and their unborn baby during the course of their pregnancy. Their duty also extends to providing post natal care and ensuring that the baby and mother are both in good health.
Gynaecologists are doctors who deal with the reproductive system in women and problems associated with it. Like problems with the menstrual cycle, anomalies in the uterus, ovaries and so forth. Obstetricians and gynaecologists often double up to perform both duties. It is imperative for every female teenager to know that visits to the OBGYN are considered routine in most countries and one does not need to be plagued with a “disease’’ to do so. Regular visits to the OBGYN ensure that everything is in order within the body and are the best form of preventive healthcare when it comes to the reproductive system.
In today’s day and age , due to differences in lifestyles as well as mindsets as compared to traditional times, certain anomalies have been seen on an upward trend. Infertility is also becoming a major cause of concern these days. It is better to get an early start and seek guidance from an OBGYN so as to prevent future hindrances along the road.
